The brief: To create a brand and website for Codename:Shirley, a new online collaborative design and creative community. They are a platform where companies, brands and punters of all shapes and sizes can upload briefs for creative’s from across the globe can upload pitches for creative to win. Seen here is my response to the brief with the branding shown within it.

The sites interface has been designed to make it easy for both creatives and companies to find what they’re looking for. The home page has been divided giving a large portion to newly added creatives. Brief of the week also takes stage front and centre encouraging visitors to return often. The rest of the page is aimed at new visitors offering a basic introduction to the company and the website along with quick links to the most suitable pages.

Design categories at the head of the page help narrow down which projects and creative's are right for your search. An example of the creative’s work is presented along with a brief profile and link to his or her profile, visable once the cursor hovers over. Business users can select numerous creative's for recommending their briefs.

Each creative gets a detailed profile page with on which to exhibit their work. All project thumbnails appear in black and white until hovered over where they become full colour. The website allows each creative full control over their content and imagery and will use a projects key words to recommend briefs and to recommend the creative to companies.

The website is equally accessible to companies looking to upload briefs and offers an easy to use, editable template when doing so. It uses common icons and upload functions familiar with today’s web users and with each section you will find a help function for which a small window pops up to explain that section and the benefit of it. Further numbered steps walk users through building a brief to dispersing it and the options recommended dependant on the brief itself.
